Para dar cumplimiento a la iniciativa del Presidente Luis Abinader de construir viviendas dignas para los dominicanos más vulnerables, el Instituto Nacional de la Vivienda (INVI) y la Dirección General de Bienes Nacionales firmaron un convenio para la donación, por parte de Bienes Nacionales, de un terreno que servirá para construir un proyecto habitacional en el Distrito Nacional, específicamente en el sector La Yuca. La donación de este terreno, que asciende a 12,541 m2 permitirá cumplir con la promesa del Presidente de la República de ofrecer a los moradores de la zona un espacio digno para vivir, sacándolos del hacinamiento en que viven actualmente, esto de acuerdo con César Cedeño Ávila, director general de Bienes Nacionales. Estos terrenos donados también contribuyen con el objetivo de lograr disminuir el déficit habitacional que existe en el territorio nacional. De acuerdo con Carlos Bonilla Sánchez (CBS), director del INVI, el proyecto iniciará tan pronto el convenio se legalice y se establezcan los procedimientos de lugar. Revisión de la estrategia A finales de octubre, Carlos Bonilla Sánchez (CBS) se reunió inicialmente con el abogado César Cedeño, director de Bienes Nacionales; con Orlando Jorge Mera, Ministro de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales; y con el Mayor General Piloto Leonel Muñoz, Comandante General de la Fuerza Aérea, para revisar la estrategia para el uso de los terrenos que serían asignados para seguir construyendo el Plan Nacional de Vivienda. En este encuentro también se habló de la convivencia del proyecto dentro del cuidado del medio ambiente, así como del aprovechamiento de los recursos agrícolas del país. El director del INVI agradeció por este encuentro que le ha permitido compartir su visión para la construcción de viviendas, que es la misma de todos los integrantes de la reunión. De acuerdo con el convenio firmado entre Bienes Nacionales y el INVI, los inmuebles construidos serán sujetos a confirmación del derecho de propiedad del país.
