Different Types of Car tinting

Looking for a window film shouldn’t be hard. While there are admittedly a lot of types that exist in the market, each one comes with its own different set of pros and cons. Here’s a look at three of the most popular kinds:

Dyed Window Tint Film
This is your best bet if you want something that’s wallet-friendly, says Love to Know. However, it’s going to offer a whole lot less than other types of car tints out there. It tends to fade over time much more quickly than other kinds of window car tints, so you’ll have to shell out more money for a fresh coat much, much sooner rather than later. Also, heat reduction capacity isn’t anything remarkable, but it’ll get the job done in a pinch.

Metallized Film
This works the same way as a dyed window tint film. It keeps the heat at bay by reflecting it away from the surface. However, the film does come with tiny metallic components, which are invisible to the naked eye and works to toughen up the windows, making them more scratch and shatter-resistant. One downside, though, is that it gets in the way of your mobile phone connection, GPS transmissions, and radio reception.

Hybrid Film
If you want a hardy car tint, this combination of dyed and metallized films is an excellent choice. It works great at blocking off the heat, glare, and UV rays. At the same time, it takes a long time to fade, and is as durable and strong as metallized film. It also doesn’t interfere with any of the phone and radio signals, which is a definite plus factor. The only possible downside is the cost. It’s much more expensive than going with a dyed window tint.

If you aren’t sure what kind of tint you like, reach out to the stores and ask. Know what kind matches the make and model of your ride. That way, you have a nice foothold of knowledge while you look and shop around.
