Starting a new job is pretty exciting, yet pretty stressful at the same time. Remember when you were a new hire? After all, you had to start somewhere. You didn’t always own your own business. New hire training is extremely important if you want the employee that you had such high hopes for to stick with you for a long time to come. With that in mind, read on below for a few tips to help you train new hires that will stick.

Be a Tour Guide
No one wants to be just thrown at a desk and told to find their way. You hired this person so make it apart of their new hire training for you to be their tour guide. Take them on a tour of the places they need to know about and the lesser used places as well. It’s much easier to get used to a new job if you know a lot about the place you’re going to be working in.

Make Lunch Plans
For the first week, make sure that you new hire has lunch plans every day. Whether it’s with you or someone else in the office. You don’t want your new employee to feel left out and sitting eating lunch alone, especially in that first week. The faster the new employee makes friends, the faster she will become comfortable, read to work, and feel at home. Make sure that you play a part in making the new employee feel comfortable, if you want them to stick around for a long time to come.
