You don’t want your new employee to feel left out and sitting eating lunch alone, especially in that first week. The faster the new employee makes friends, the faster she will become comfortable, read to work, and feel at home. Make sure that you play a part in making the new employee feel comfortable, if you want them to stick around for a long time to come.
